< p>Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said today that his country is developing new air defenses to counter "new risks" that have arisen since Russia deployed a new missile with average range in the 33rd month of the war, reported Reuters, quoted by BTA.
Zelensky stressed in his evening video address to the nation that the world must give a "serious response" of this move by Moscow, so that Russian President Vladimir Putin does not dare to expand the war and feel the real consequences of his actions.
It is clear that using another country to "test new weapons of terror" is an international crime, the Ukrainian president added.
Zelensky also said that Ukraine has asked its Western allies to supply it with new, latest-generation air defense systems.
"Ukraine's defense minister is already talking with our partners about new air defense systems, exactly the type of systems that can protect people's lives from new risks," Zelensky said, quoted by France Press.
Zelensky also said that the use of the Russian hypersonic missile is a mockery of the position of countries such as China, the countries of the Global South, as well as some leaders who call for restraint every time, reported AFP.
