President Vladimir Putin signed a law banning the propaganda of the ideology "No children" in Russia.
The authors of the initiative were the chairmen of the lower and upper houses of the parliament Vyacheslav Volodin and Valentina Matviyenko, as well as other politicians
Site owners will now be required to identify information that encourages people not to have children. Its distribution will become the basis for including the source in the unified register of prohibited information of Roskomnadzor.
Furthermore, no distribution certificates will be issued to films containing such propaganda.
The law stipulates that the media shall not include advertising containing propaganda for the refusal of childbirth.
The exception is the monastic lifestyle and the vow of celibacy, which will not be considered "no children" propaganda.
As Volodin noted, the goal of the initiative is to "suppress any destructive content" that could influence the decision to create children.
