London reboots ties with Europe, looks for new negotiator - 1

UK Government hires new negotiator to help "reboot" of relations with Europe, BNR reported.

The job advert says the incumbent will lead the government's relationship and negotiations with the European Union "on key UK interests", citing trade, security and border policy.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer commits to a "restart" of UK-EU relations and previously said he would seek a better trade deal than the one agreed by Boris Johnson at the end of 2020. However, the Prime Minister clarified that it is not about canceling Brexit.

A job advertisement posted online by the cabinet said the "new role of negotiator is a high-profile position that will receive significant public scrutiny and political attention". The salary is expected to be between £153,000 and £200,000 a year. The person will be required to oversee and lead the development of trade policies including the "Windsor Framework", the Trade and Cooperation Agreement, the Entry and Exit Scheme or the upcoming EU Digital Border Scheme and other matters of the border policy.

Stephen Moore, a senior economic adviser to US President-elect Donald Trump, said a few days ago that the UK "has to choose between the European economic model of more socialism and the US model, which is based more on a free enterprise system". ;.
