Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau yesterday condemned the violence and anti-Semitism during anti-NATO and pro-Palestinian protests in Montreal on Friday night as delegates to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly gathered for their annual session, reported Reuters, quoted by BTA.
About 300 delegates from NATO member countries and Alliance partner countries are meeting in Montreal from November 22 to 25.
Canadian media reported violence and vandalism by the demonstrators.
Police used tear gas and batons to disperse the crowd and three people were arrested for assaulting police officers and obstructing police work.
"What we saw on the streets of Montreal last night was disgusting. Manifestations of anti-Semitism, intimidation and violence should be condemned wherever we see them," Trudeau said on the "X" social network.
