At a plenary meeting of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Montreal, Canada, a resolution was adopted calling on the member states of the alliance to increase their efforts to ensure Ukraine's full membership in NATO as soon as possible. The document emphasizes the need for Ukraine to receive an invitation for membership and become the 33rd member state of the alliance, cited by BTA.
The Assembly also calls for increased military, financial and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, including the timely delivery of ammunition and advanced military technology. Special consideration is given to the provision of medium-range missiles to Ukraine to strengthen defenses and deter further aggression.
In addition, the resolution calls for the strengthening of sanctions against Russia and North Korea in order to increase the cost of their cooperation in aggression against Ukraine. It also emphasizes the need to use political and economic leverage to deter China from supporting Russian military efforts.
