Israel's wartime cabinet approved an agreement for a ceasefire with "Hezbollah" in Lebanon, Reuters reported, referring to the Israeli TV channel "Channel 12", reports BTA.
The agreement is expected to take effect tomorrow.
Shortly before, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani and US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken stated that negotiations for such a deal were in the final stage.
A call for such an agreement was made at the meeting of G7 foreign ministers in Italy, which ended today.
A ceasefire agreement in Lebanon requires Israeli troops to withdraw from southern Lebanon and the Lebanese army to deploy there, Reuters reported, citing Israeli officials. "Hezbollah" will end its armed presence along the border south of the Litani River.
Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib said the Lebanese army would be ready to deploy at least 5,000 troops in southern Lebanon as Israeli troops withdraw, and that the US could play a role in rebuilding infrastructure destroyed by Israeli strikes.
