The Minister of Defense of the Netherlands, Ruben Brekelmans, announced that the country has delivered to Ukraine three systems for air defense “Patriot“. The news was announced through a post on the X social network, accompanied by photos of the systems, as quoted by News.bg.
„Ukrainians face harsh winter as airstrikes continue. That is why we supplied them with three Patriot air defense systems, Breckelmans said.
The announcement was supported by Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, who emphasized the need for such support against the backdrop of yet another attack on Ukrainian infrastructure.
The transfer of the systems was announced in May, but took place after the Netherlands collected additional components from allies in the fall. In September, the Netherlands already sent a radar for the “Patriot”, but only now completed the delivery of the full set of systems.
This assistance aims to strengthen the defense of Ukrainian airspace, which has been subjected to intense attacks by Russia, especially against energy infrastructure.
