Tusk: Putin's threats with a hypersonic missile are a sign of weakness, not strength - 1

Russian President Vladimir Putin has threatened to hit Kiev with the experimental Oreshnik medium-range hypersonic missile, saying it can hit anywhere in Europe and has "huge destructive potential". To these statements, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk replied that Putin's threats are proof of weakness, not strength, reported France Presse, quoted by BTA.

„The fact that he so often uses serious threats in his rhetoric testifies rather to his weakness”, Tusk said during a press conference with Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson.

The Polish leader emphasized the importance of Ukrainian resistance, noting that if Ukraine had succumbed to threats, “there would have been Russian soldiers on the borders with Poland, Finland or Norway a long time ago”.

Yesterday, Poland, the Baltic states and the Scandinavian countries announced their intentions to increase military aid to Ukraine and insisted on extending sanctions against Russia.

„We will not allow ourselves to be intimidated. We will continue to support Ukraine for as long as necessary,” Tusk said, categorically rejecting the possibility that NATO and its allies would succumb to Russian threats.
