Russia has clearly defined conditions for resolving the conflict in Ukraine, said the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov. According to him, Moscow has established specific parameters for settling the situation, which are not subject to change, reports Focus.
Amid rising tensions, the press office of Russia's foreign intelligence agency announced on Friday that the West plans to deploy a "peacekeeping contingent" of about 100 thousand people in Ukraine, with the aim of restoring the fighting capacity of the Ukrainian army. Russia perceives this as a potential form of occupation.
Peskov stressed that Russia has "absolutely clear parameters", which include the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the occupied territories, and Kiev must give up its ambitions for NATO membership. In addition, Russia insists on "demilitarization" and "denazification" of Ukraine, as well as to ensure the neutral, non-nuclear status of the country. In addition, Moscow demands the lifting of sanctions against the Russian Federation.
Russia's initiative for a peaceful resolution of the conflict was outlined back in June by President Vladimir Putin, who proposed a ceasefire and readiness for negotiations if these conditions were met.
However, after the attack by the Ukrainian armed forces in the Kursk region, Putin declared that negotiations with Kiev were becoming impossible. The assistant to the president, Yuriy Ushakov, specified that despite this situation, Russia's peace proposals have not been canceled, but at this stage, in the context of Ukraine's actions, talks are not planned.
