Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko expressed delight at the successful missile strike with the Russian "Oreshnik" rocket; by the "Yuzhmash" plant in the Dnieper and stated that he would like to see these powerful weapons on the territory of Belarus. According to Lukashenko, Russia has successfully demonstrated the power of the missile, which "cooled" those who, in his opinion, "brought the world to the brink of World War III" – referring to the West, reports Focus.
The Belarusian leader praised the non-nuclear missile as a powerful weapon that was "comparable in power to nuclear weapons" but without inflicting radiation damage on the environment. Lukashenko stressed that such weapons have a serious impact on the world community and pointed out that those who believe that the situation will be resolved will soon realize that it "won't work out".
The issue of deploying "Oreshnik" missiles in Belarus has already been discussed with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Lukashenko stated that the sites for deploying these weapons are already ready, and it remains only to decide "when" this will happen. Putin has promised to "think" on the matter, the Belarusian president added.
The rockets "Oreshnik" established themselves as a symbol of Russian military power, and Lukashenko saw in them additional strength for the protection of the "Union State" between Belarus and Russia.
