North Korean leader Kim Jong-un told the Russian Defense Minister that Ukraine's use of long-range weapons is the result of direct US military intervention and Moscow has the right to take self-defense actions, North Korean state media reported today, Reuters reported, as quoted by BTA.
Kim met yesterday in Pyongyang with Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov and said that “The US and the West pushed the authorities in Kiev to attack Russian territory with their own long-range strike weapon” and Russia must take action to make “hostile forces pay the price for this”, KCTA reported.
Kim promised to expand ties with Russia in all areas,
including military issues within the framework of the comprehensive strategic partnership that he concluded with Russian President Vladimir Putin in June. This partnership includes a mutual defense agreement, KCTA announced.
The state news agency did not mention whether Kim and Belousov discussed the deployment of North Korean troops to Russia.
