The USA is undermining its competitiveness through anti-Russian actions. This was said in an interview with TASS by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Ryabkov.
„By the way, they have been working for a long time to undermine the competitiveness of the economies of the countries of the European Union. And in the field of uranium, they will undermine their own competitiveness as a result of their own reckless, irresponsible policies. It's their choice, but we won't be sad about it,” he said.
As Ryabkov noted, the Americans are doing something that harms themselves with their politics. “Unfortunately, they do not fully realize this,” said the deputy minister.
The Russian government previously imposed temporary restrictions on the export of enriched uranium to the United States. We are talking about the export of enriched uranium directly to this country or under foreign trade agreements concluded with persons registered under the jurisdiction of the United States. Exceptions are deliveries under one-time licenses issued by the Federal Service for Technical and Export Control. This is in response to the US-imposed restriction for 2024-2027, and from 2028 – ban on imports of Russian uranium products. Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered an analysis of the possibility of limiting supplies of strategic raw materials to foreign markets in September at a meeting with the government.
