And< /strong>Israeli airstrikes resulted in the death of at least 15 Palestinians in Gaza on Sunday, local medical sources reported, reports News.bg.

The strikes hit residential areas and displaced families in the Nuseirat camp, Gaza City, Khan Younis and Rafah near the Egyptian border, reports "Reuters".

  • Victims by region:
    • In Nuseirat camp, six people died in a residential home.
    • In Gaza City, three other people were killed in their homes.
    • In Khan Younis, a rocket hit a tent camp, killing two children.
    • In Rafah, four people died as a result of the strikes.

Residents of northern Gaza, including in Jabalia, Beit Lahiya and Beit Hanoun, reported entire neighborhoods destroyed. According to Palestinian sources, the Israeli army's operations are aimed at creating a buffer zone, which Israel denies, saying the attacks are targeting Hamas infrastructure.

Prisoners and allegations of abuse

Two Palestinian prisoners – Mohammad Idris and Mouat Ryan – died in Israeli jails, bringing the death toll in custody since the start of the conflict to 47. Palestinian advocacy groups accuse Israel of abusing prisoners, but Israeli officials deny the claims.

Diplomatic efforts for a truce

In Cairo, Hamas leaders discussed possible reconciliation agreements with Egyptian officials. The talks are part of a renewed US-backed diplomatic effort involving Qatar, Egypt and Turkey. Hamas demands the release of Palestinian prisoners in exchange for hostages held in Gaza.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, however, remains adamant that the conflict will not end until Hamas is completely destroyed.
