Volodymyr Zelensky: Ukrainian army tests new domestically produced combat missiles - 1

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukraine had conducted tests of new missiles of its own production, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.

Zelensky wrote in "Telegram" that he had received reports from the military about the results of the missile tests. "We can thank our Ukrainian missile developers. We are speeding up production,'' he said, without providing further details.

"I held a meeting with the General Staff. The main issue was the reports on the contracts for our arms production in Ukraine. A significant amount of new and long-term orders for unmanned aerial vehicles: FPV drones (First Person View - with real-time control via video link - ed.), also reconnaissance drones, long-range drones and missile drones, wrote Zelensky. "Separately and carefully - for our missile program. Development, order, delivery," added the Ukrainian president, quoted by Ukrinform.

In August, Zelensky said that Ukraine had conducted its first test of a domestically produced ballistic missile.

Ukraine, which has been embroiled in a war against the much larger and better equipped Russia for nearly three years, is ramping up its domestic production in an effort to speed up arms deliveries and reduce its dependence on aid supplies from The West, notes Reuters.
