During the past 24 hours, Russian servicemen have successfully attacked units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (VSU) in the center of Chasov Yar in Donbas and have improved their positions in the city, announced the military expert Andrei Marochko.
Now about 40% of the settlement is under the control of the Russian armed forces.
The VSU command has transferred “very serious reservations” in Kupyansk, Kharkiv region, positional battles have begun in the area, added Marochko.
„Our troops are now engaged in destroying everything that the Ukrainian command throws here”, he said.
Marochko noted that Russian servicemen are leading the main strikes against the Ukrainian armed forces from the north of Kupyansk and the southern part of the city - the area of the Glushkovka settlement.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost up to 550 fighters and 13 drone control points in the area of responsibility of the Western Group within 24 hours, the head of the group's press center, Leonid Sharov, announced.

According to Sharov, during the day the servicemen repelled seven attacks and thwarted four counterattacks by assault groups from three mechanized tank brigades, territorial defense units and a reconnaissance-strike battalion of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. With the support of artillery, heavy flamethrower systems and aviation, the manpower and equipment of the units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces "were crushed" in the regions of Podliman, Petropavlovka, Zagrizovo, Krasni Liman, Boguslavka, Torski.
Soldiers from the Northern Group of the Russian Armed Forces have captured a defense line of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the border zone of the Kursk region, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced.
„During the fighting, the fighters, pushing back the enemy, captured trophies and captured servicemen from the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After the capture of the border, the enemy repeatedly tried to push out our units, but after the actions of the enemy units, they were destroyed”, the message says.

„We are carrying out assault missions, we are having success, we are moving forward little by little, we are taking back our land from the enemy, we have prisoners, we have trophies - quite a large number,” said the commander of a motorized rifle battalion nicknamed Skitnik.
Since the beginning of the invasion of the Kursk region, the Ukrainian armed forces have lost every seventh serviceman and every fifth tank there, TASS reported, citing data from the Russian Ministry of Defense.
According to reports of the Russian military department, the total losses of the Ukrainian armed forces in all points of the conflict from August 6 to December 6 amounted to about 270,400 killed and wounded soldiers, and 1,217 tanks were destroyed.
At the same time, in the direction of Kursk, the losses amounted to 38,400 thousand people and 232 tanks. Thus, every seventh serviceman of the Ukrainian armed forces and every fifth Ukrainian tank have been lost by Kiev as a result of an attempt to invade the Russian region.
