The authorities of Jordan and Egypt have offered Syrian President Bashar Assad to leave the country and form an interim council that will include representatives of the opposition, reports The Wall Street Journal, citing its sources.

The Jordanian Embassy in Washington officially denied this information.

The publication claims that Iran has begun evacuating some of its diplomats and military advisers from Syria.

The publication claims that soldiers from Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps have already been evacuated to Iraq and Lebanon. On December 2, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic, Esmail Baghai, said that Iranian military advisers will continue to be in Syria and provide assistance to Damascus in the fight against terrorists.

Sources of The New York Times say that some Iranian diplomatic officials and their family members, as well as ordinary Iranian citizens, have left Syria. Some people were sent to Tehran by plane, while others reached Lebanon, Iraq and the Syrian port of Latakia by land.
