Russia has carried out a massive attack on key energy facilities in Ukraine in response to the use of American ATAKMS missiles against a military airfield in Taganrog, BTA reports.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the attack was carried out using long-range air and sea weapons, as well as strike drones.
Purpose of the strike: destruction of critical infrastructure
"These strikes were aimed at the Ukrainian oil and energy infrastructure, which is responsible for supporting the country's military-industrial complex. The objective of the operation has been achieved, all targets have been destroyed," the Russian ministry said.
Earlier today, Ukraine reported that Russia had launched a long-range missile strike on energy facilities during the morning rush hour. These attacks have threatened the country's electricity and fuel supplies, and are expected to have long-term effects on Ukraine's energy stability.
