Donald Trump has named the producer of his long-running reality TV show “The Apprentice“ as his administration's special envoy to the United Kingdom, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.

Mark Burnett, 64, created the show that made Trump internationally famous for firing a series of contestants vying for a spot in his business.

British-born Burnett created or produced "Survivor", "Shark Tank" and other television shows and was chairman of MGM Worldwide Television Group.

Trump had previously chosen businessman Warren Stevens as ambassador to Britain. On Friday, the British government appointed Peter Mandelson as ambassador to the United States.

Mandelson's task will be to court Trump, avoid a trade war and keep London and Washington united in support of Ukraine, Reuters notes.

In a post on his platform “Truth Social“, Trump said that Burnett would “work to improve diplomatic relations“ and focus on “trade, investment opportunities and cultural exchanges“.

US President-elect Donald Trump announced yesterday that he would nominate the billionaire owner of the professional basketball team “Houston Rockets“ Tilman Fertitta as his administration's ambassador to Italy, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.

Fertitta is chairman and owner of Landry's Corporation, which operates 600 restaurants, hotels and casinos in 35 US states.

In a post on his platform “Truth Social“ (Truth Social), Trump praised Fertitta, 67, who is originally from Texas, as a "accomplished businessman" and philanthropist.
