Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky sent a message on the social network X, drawing attention to the fate of 48 Ukrainian children forcibly separated from their families two years ago by Russian forces.
Most of them were under three years old when they were separated from their families – some were transported to occupied Crimea, and others – deported to Russia.
„Ukrainian children are not toys, although it seems that for Russian elites and officials they are,“ Zelensky wrote.
The president emphasized the importance of international support in efforts to return these children to their families and expressed gratitude to Ukraine's partners, who are actively helping in this process and continue to provide the necessary assistance.
Two years ago, as the Russians retreated, they kidnapped 48 children. None of them were even three years old. Most of these children were forcibly relocated deeper into occupied territory — to Crimea — while others were deported to Russia.
