Four people suspected of involvement in the explosions in The Hague must remain in custody for another 90 days, a court ruled today, the Dutch National News Agency ANP reported, quoted by BTA.

At the moment, the suspects are only allowed to contact a lawyer. The prosecutor's office announced that these restrictions remain in force after the extension of the pre-trial detention.

Six people were killed and several were injured in the explosions in The Hague on December 7. Several residential buildings were destroyed and other properties were seriously damaged.

On December 9, police arrested two men from Roosendaal, aged 23 and 29, respectively, and a 33-year-old man from Rotterdam. Two days later, a 33-year-old man from Oosterhout was also arrested.

The detainees are suspected of planning an explosion that killed six people and injured several others. They are also suspected of setting fire to a car and preparing it.

The two men from Roosendaal were arrested in early December in a car with several fuel canisters, flares and powerful fireworks.

The judicial authorities have so far said almost nothing about the circumstances and background to the explosion. The first hearing will take place within the next ninety days. The course of the investigation and the detention measure will then be discussed.
