On December 25, Russian forces launched a large-scale shelling of Ukraine using missiles and drones. In response, Poland put its armed forces on high alert, the operational command of the country's armed forces announced on the social network "X", Focus reports.
According to the official statement, the attacks are aimed at targets in various parts of Ukraine, including in the western regions, near the Polish border.
Activation of Polish military aviation
The operational commander of the Polish Armed Forces has ordered the activation of all available resources:
- Raising duty fighter jets to patrol the airspace;
- Putting ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems on the highest level of readiness.
"With the measures taken, we aim to ensure the security of the territories that are close to the threatened areas," the command stated.
Constant readiness for defense
The Polish Armed Forces confirmed that airspace security duties are maintained 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including during holidays. The command is ready to respond immediately to any threat, monitoring the dynamically developing situation.
