The deputies of the Abkhazian parliament have agreed to search the houses of MP Adgur Kharazia, suspected of murdering MP Vakhtangi Golandzia and attempting to murder MP Kan Kvarchia, a TASS correspondent reports from a parliamentary session.
As noted in the resolution, the suspect Kharazia is a native of the village of Bagmaran, Gulripsh district, registered and actually lives in Sukhum, where “the weapon of the crime could be stored - a pistol of an unknown type used in the murder of Golandzia and the attempted murder of Kvarchia, as well as other objects and belongings related to this criminal case."
According to the prosecutor's office, after committing the crime of December 19, Kharazia left the territory of the parliament in a Toyota Camry official car. and headed to Bagmaran, where, leaving the car, he disappeared in an unknown direction.
„At the moment there is a need to conduct searches in the above-mentioned households“, said at the meeting Acting O. Prosecutor General Damir Kvitsinia. He noted that on December 23, the Sukhumi City Court granted permission to conduct searches in Kharazia's households. As MP Inar Sadzba said, Kharazia „must be convicted to the full extent of the law“. “He didn't just commit murder on the street, he committed murder in the parliament building, which is a state institution, thereby undermining the foundations of our state“, the politician said.
As a result of the shooting on December 19 in the parliament building, two deputies were injured - Kan Kvarchya and Vakhtangy Golandzia. Golandzia died from his injuries, Kvarchya was hospitalized in the Sukhum Republican Hospital and was discharged on December 28. Deputy Adgur Kharazia, who fled, is suspected of committing the crime. On December 21, after the parliament stripped him of immunity, the Prosecutor General opened a criminal case under the articles of “murder by a generally dangerous method“. and “attempted murder by a generally dangerous method“.
