Travelers at Frankfurt Airport should prepare for possible delays and flight cancellations on Sunday due to expected snow and freezing rain, the operator Fraport warned today, quoted by DPA and NOVA.
Morning flights may be particularly affected. Passengers are urged to allow extra time to get to the airport and check their flight status in advance.
It is not yet known how many flights may be affected, this will depend on the weather on Sunday, an airport spokesman added. Each airline will decide whether to operate its flights, he said.
Delays are also possible due to weather problems at other airports, which could lead to the cancellation of connecting flights or planes being unable to reach Frankfurt, a major transport hub in Europe, the spokesman warned.
