Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will not attend the inauguration of the newly elected US President Donald Trump on January 20. This was made clear by a statement from a senior aide to the “Times of Israel“, quoted by News.bg.
It was initially expected that the prime minister would honor the event, despite his recent prostate surgery. However, he was advised to rest after leaving the hospital to participate in the vote on an important budget bill in the Knesset.
Other high-profile leaders, such as Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin, will not attend Trump's inauguration. Putin was not even invited.
Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has expressed his desire to attend the event, but to do so he must obtain his passport, which was confiscated last year in connection with an investigation into a 2023 coup attempt.
