On the verge of another ecological disaster! A tanker from the Russian shadow fleet lost control in the Baltic Sea off t - 1

On the day the US imposed large-scale sanctions against the Russian oil and gas sector, a tanker carrying Russian oil, which is not included in the sanctions list, but which is suspected of belonging to the shadowy Russian fleet, lost control in the Baltic Sea off the coast of Germany and was taken in tow after a few hours of sailing.

According to the specialized publication gCaptain, the tanker Eventin with 99 thousand tons of oil lost control north of the German island of Rügen on Friday around noon local time.

The German tug Bremen Fighter reached it three hours later and towed it to the nearest port.

According to official data, the Eventin was transporting oil from the Russian port of Ust-Luga to the Egyptian port of Port Said, which is part of the Suez Canal. The ship is currently sailing under the Panamanian flag.

Ukraine believes that the tanker Eventin is part of Russia's "shadow fleet" of tankers that transport oil and oil products sold to circumvent sanctions.

The vessel is linked to the UAE-registered company Wanta Shipping LLC-FZ, which Ukraine says is linked to Fractal Marine DMCC, a company that Britain has sanctioned for trading Russian oil to circumvent restrictions.
