Warsaw did not allow a Slovak delegation traveling to Moscow to fly over Poland - 1

Poland refused to allow a plane with a delegation from the Slovak parliament to fly through its airspace to Moscow, said the delegation's representative Peter Gaspar.

The flight, which included the Deputy Speaker of the Slovak Parliament Andrey Danko, then passed without a problem over the Czech Republic and Germany.

It was earlier reported that on Monday Danko, as well as the Deputy Speaker of the Slovak Parliament Tibor Gaspar, will meet with the Speaker of the State Duma of Russia Vyacheslav Volodin.

On Tuesday, they are also scheduled to meet with the Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko.

The delegation also includes the Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee Marian Kerry, the Chair of the Defense and Security Committee Richard Glick, and MPs Jan Majhut and Adam Luchansky.

The visits will end on January 15.

The Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to International Organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, called Poland's refusal to allow the plane carrying the parliamentary delegation traveling to Russia to pass through its airspace "unimaginable."

"Relations between EU countries have become quite complicated due to differences in approaches to the issue of war and peace. The decision to close airspace to opponents on the other side is beyond imagination," Ulyanov wrote in X.
