Seoul prosecutors seek assistance in executing arrest warrant for ousted president - 1

South Korean prosecutors have asked the presidential security service and the defense ministry for assistance in executing an arrest warrant for ousted president Yoon Suk-yeol, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.

On Tuesday, the Constitutional Court is expected to move forward with the substance of the impeachment trial against Yoon, who on December 3 issued a decree declaring martial law, which, however, was short-lived. The court will decide whether to uphold his impeachment or restore him to power.

Sixty-four-year-old Yun is still in his residence, which is protected by high walls and guarded by dozens of guards from the presidential security service.

Hundreds of his supporters have set up a tent camp in front of the entrance to the complex.

In mid-December, lawmakers removed Yun from office until further notice on charges of abuse of power and subversion.
