A fire broke out overnight at an oil refinery in southern Russia's Volgograd region after a drone attack carried out by Ukraine, Reuters reported, citing regional governor Andrey Bocharov.
He said in a post on the social network "Telegram" that air defenses had managed to repel eight Ukrainian drones that had attacked the area.
„As a result of falling debris from the drones, a fire broke out in the area of the oil refinery, which was quickly extinguished. One worker was injured and taken to hospital," Bocharov said.
The Russian Defense Ministry said 49 Ukrainian drones had been shot down overnight, with 25 of them destroyed in the neighboring Rostov region. Drones were also detected and destroyed in the Kursk, Yaroslavl, Belgorod and Voronezh regions, as well as in the Krasnodar region.
