Many countries have expressed their readiness to host possible future negotiations to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, said the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Alexei Polishchuk.

"First of all, this is our ally Belarus", the diplomat told TASS.

Polishchuk added that the Russian Federation is grateful to "partners for their readiness to provide mediation services and provide venues". "Now, however, the main question is not where exactly the negotiations will take place, but with whom and about what we can talk and agree," he concluded.

According to the Kremlin, the main obstacles to peace negotiations are the ban on such negotiations imposed by Vladimir Zelensky's decree, as well as Ukrainian initiatives showing that Kiev is "completely disconnected from modern realities".

For Putin, Zelensky is already illegitimate in the post of president.
