The American space agency NASA told RIA Novosti that it was aware of the change in the leadership of the Russian state corporation Roscosmos and would continue to work with all international partners.

"NASA is aware of the change in the leadership of the Russian state space corporation Roscosmos. We will continue to work with all our international partners to ensure the safe work of astronauts and cosmonauts living on board the International Space Station," the Agency said.

On Thursday, the Kremlin announced the appointment of Dmitry Bakanov as head of Roscosmos. The corresponding decree was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin. Since 2011 Bakanov works at the company "Sputnik System" Prateni", where he holds managerial positions. In 2019, he became director of the digital transformation department at the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation. Since April 2022, Bakanov has held the post of Deputy Minister of Transport, where he oversees the development of the use of information and communication technologies.

Previously, the position of head of Roscosmos was held by Yuri Borisov. The press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin has no claims to him; the rotation was carried out in order to develop the corporation.
