The administration of US President Donald Trump will continue to sue states and cities that hinder the fight against illegal immigration. This was announced on Thursday by the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the country Pam Bondi.
“They choose to prefer illegals over the safety of their own citizens and the law enforcement officers who are trying to protect them. We not only sued the city of Chicago today, we are suing the state of Illinois, the mayor, the governor and others. And if you do not comply with federal laws, you will be next“, the head of the Department of Justice said in an interview with Fox News.
Earlier Thursday, the Trump administration accused Illinois and Chicago of “obstructing federal immigration enforcement efforts“. Bondi said the so-called sanctuary city policy hinders “cooperation between law enforcement agencies at the city, state and national levels“ and prevents federal officials from “keeping Americans safe“.
