The Israeli Air Force attacked positions of the Shiite movement „Hezbollah“ in Lebanon, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced, quoted by DPA and BTA.
„The Israeli Air Force carried out a precision strike on Lebanese territory on two military targets containing „Hezbollah“ weapons, which constitutes a violation of the ceasefire agreement,“ the military announced on social networks.
The statement emphasizes that the IDF will continue to eliminate threats to Israel and prevent „Hezbollah“ to restore its military capabilities, in accordance with the terms of the ceasefire.
The information about the airstrikes could not be independently confirmed, DPA notes.
The ceasefire between Israel and the Iranian-backed “Hezbollah“, reached in November last year, was recently extended until February 18, according to information from the White House.
The originally planned withdrawal of Israeli forces from southern Lebanon within 60 days has been delayed, and both sides continue to accuse each other of violating the ceasefire.
