The parliamentary elections in Kosovo have ended, Kosovo media reported. These were the first regular parliamentary elections since the country declared independence from Serbia in 2008. All previous parliamentary elections have been early.

The polling stations opened at 7 a.m. local time (8 a.m. Bulgarian time) and closed shortly after 7 p.m. (20 p.m. Bulgarian time), BTA reports.

The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Kosovo is expected to present data on voter turnout at a press conference. As of 17:30 local time, it was 28.73%, according to CEC data.

Kosovo citizens elected their representatives in the 120-seat parliament from 28 political parties and coalitions with 1280 candidates.

Those eligible to vote in the parliamentary vote were 2,075,868 people, of whom 1,970,944 were in Kosovo and 104,924 were voters abroad.

Voting abroad ended yesterday.
