A second pro-Russian candidate of the far-right in Romania was prevented from participating in the presidential elections in the country, reports the Bulgarian National Radio.
After stopping the favorite in the polls Calin Georgescu, yesterday the Central Electoral Bureau of the country did not allow Diana Soshoaca - MEP and leader of the small party "SOS Romania" - to participate in the vote on May 4.
Another representative of the far-right was allowed - George Simion from the Alliance for the Unification of Romanians.
Soshoaca's critics accuse her of spreading anti-Semitic views and Russian propaganda. Her supporters call today's decision a blow to democracy and fundamental rights in Romania.
Earlier today, several thousand people demonstrated in Bucharest in solidarity with the European Union.
