"We expect Hamas to fulfill all its obligations," Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said.

"We are ensuring compliance with the ceasefire agreement, which requires the use of force", the prime minister continued. He noted that Israel "is operating both in the south and in the north".

Netanyahu noted that he "had just returned from Washington", where he had been on a "historic visit" and "met with US President Trump and senior officials from his administration". According to the Israeli cabinet chief, “this visit and the negotiations with the US president will bring incredible results that can guarantee Israel's security for generations to come“.

The ceasefire in the Gaza Strip came into effect on January 19. On the same day, Palestinian groups released the first group of hostages, which included three Israeli women. According to the agreements, the implementation of the first stage of the agreement will last 42 days, during which time Hamas will release at least 33 Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails.
