I believe that the 47th head of state of the United States will not be the leader under whom the Russian president will win in the war against Ukraine. There are many reasons, including his own ego. This was stated on the air of Nova TV by diplomat and former Minister of Foreign Affairs Nadezhda Neynsky, quoted by novini.bg.

She commented on the political situation after the "New York Post" reported that US President Donald Trump spoke by phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss ending the war in Ukraine.

"There is talk that Trump will meet with Zelensky this week, but this information is also shrouded in complete fog. I think Trump will strive to ensure that Ukraine does not lose, because this is part of his personal reputation. But how he will achieve it, we will see. So far, Moscow has not reacted sharply, which means that some talks are still taking place," she suggests.

"There is currently a major geopolitical competition between the US and China. Russia is only the 11th economy, so it is not in this dispute. If the US wants to separate itself from China, a big vacuum opens up and partners will have to be sought. I think that a trade war between the US and Europe should be avoided. Obviously, tariffs will be a major tool of US foreign policy," Neynsky explained.
"If the EU covers 2% of the GDP of the countries for their NATO membership, the American claim will be satisfied," she added.
