Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, who is responsible for relations with the US and arms control, commented that all of Russian President Vladimir Putin's conditions for ending the conflict in Ukraine must be met before any peace agreement is possible, The Guardian reports, quoted by FOCUS.
According to Ryabkov, the sooner the United States and the West understand that all of Putin's conditions must be met, the sooner there will be an agreement.
The Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation recalled that last year the Russian President announced his conditions for ending the conflict.
On June 14 last year, Putin outlined his conditions, including:'' Ukraine must abandon its NATO ambitions and withdraw its troops from the entire territory of four regions controlled by Russia.
According to Russia's deputy interior minister, US supplies of modern weapons to Ukraine have made the United States a party to the conflict, Reuters.
Any negotiations with Ukraine will have to focus on the root causes of the conflict and Ukrainians must acknowledge “reality”, Ryabkov added, warning that any ultimatums to Moscow will fail.
On the other hand, Ryabkov praised the administration of US President Donald Trump for its interest in talking to Russia about the conflict in Ukraine and said that Moscow was ready for a dialogue based “on an equal footing”.
Meanwhile, Putin awarded the title Hero of Russia to the vice governor of Primorsky Krai, former commander of the volunteer battalion "Tiger" Sergey Efremov, who died in the Kursk region. This was announced by the governor of the region Oleg Kozhemyako during the farewell to Efremov in Vladivostok.
