Ukrainian industry currently provides 30% of the necessary armament for the country's Armed Forces. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky at a press conference in Kiev, quoted by Ukrinform, BTA reports.
„Our domestic production is growing rapidly. So far, we cover 30% of the army's needs. This is not enough, but it is a significant achievement and even exceeds the individual contributions of each European country“, Zelensky pointed out. He stressed that the Ukrainian defense industry will not stop its development, but on the contrary - it will continue to increase production.
„Our main priorities are drones, electronic warfare equipment and artillery. We will continue to expand these productions“, he added.
Zelensky expressed confidence that even after the end of the war, Ukraine will remain close to Russia, which requires long-term strategic preparation.
“Until we become part of NATO, we will rely mainly on ourselves and our partners. Despite everything, we remain leaders“, the Ukrainian president emphasized.
According to him, military spending since the beginning of the conflict amounted to $320 billion. Of these, $200 billion were provided by international partners, and $120 billion were Ukraine's own funds.
