Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson arrived in Kiev on the occasion of the third anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Ukrinform reports, citing a publication on the "Ex" platform, BTA reports.

„I am proud to be here, in Kiev, on the third anniversary of the invasion ordered by Russian President Vladimir Putin. "I applaud the continued heroism of the Ukrainian people who have stood up to this despicable act of unprovoked aggression, and I categorically reject the bizarre untruths currently being spread about the origins of this war," Johnson wrote on the social network.

The former British Prime Minister urged people to remain calm and look at the facts regarding the United States' continued support for Ukraine during the presidency of Donald Trump. He stressed that he remains convinced that Ukraine has a great future as a free, sovereign and independent state.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, arrived in Kyiv early this morning to mark the anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion. Leaders from the Baltic states, Europe and Canada also joined them.

Amid the third anniversary of the start of the war in Ukraine, Denmark announced it would allocate 405 million Danish kroner ($57 million) for humanitarian aid and reconstruction efforts in Ukraine, Agence France-Presse reported.

“Three years after Russia's full-scale invasion, Ukraine faces a huge need for reconstruction due to the significant destruction of infrastructure and production capacity,“ the Danish Foreign Ministry said in a statement. The UN estimates that by 2025, nearly 13 million people in Ukraine will need humanitarian aid.

The aid package will be divided, with half going to humanitarian aid, including food, medicine, water and shelter for the most affected areas of Ukraine. The other half will be directed towards reconstruction efforts.

With these funds, the total amount of humanitarian aid provided by Denmark to Ukraine will exceed 1 billion kroner ($140 million). Military aid from Denmark to Ukraine for the same period is about 7.5 billion dollars.

Norway also announced that it will provide Ukraine with 12.5 billion Norwegian kroner ($1.1 billion), focused on humanitarian aid and energy security. This funding is part of the Norwegian Support Program for Ukraine “Nansen“, approved by the Norwegian Storting (parliament).

Sweden also announced that it will provide Ukraine with air defense systems worth 1.2 billion Swedish kroner (over $127 million). Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson said his country would announce an additional €100 million to strengthen Ukraine's air defenses.

Finland will also support the second phase of the Partnership Fund for a Resilient Ukraine with a total of €4.5 million. Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda proposed that Ukraine join the European Union before January 1, 2030, stressing the importance of accelerating the process.

“Let's make Ukraine's membership in the European Union irreversible“, Nauseda said.
