Russian President Vladimir Putin said that a drone attack on a Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) pumping station in southern Russia may have been coordinated with Europe, but expressed hope that this was not the case, Reuters reported, BTA reports.
During a visit to a drone manufacturing plant in St. Petersburg, Putin stressed that he did not believe Ukraine was capable of organizing such an attack on its own and that it had probably received intelligence from Western partners.
CPC transports crude oil from Kazakhstan to Europe. On Monday, a drone hit the Kropotkinskaya pumping station near the Russian city of Stavropol, reducing oil supplies to global markets, including for Western companies such as Chevron and Exxon Mobil.
