Zakharova: When are Paris and London sincere?! It seems they have a mask in their pocket for every situation... - 1

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova commented on the "sincerity" of the votes of France and Great Britain during the voting on the resolutions on the Ukrainian crisis in the Security Council (SC) and the General Assembly (GA) of the UN, pointing out the inconsistency of the decisions of the two European countries.

Earlier on Monday, the UN General Assembly voted on two resolutions related to the Ukrainian crisis. One of them was prepared by the authorities in Kiev together with a number of European countries and was written in an anti-Russian spirit, the second was proposed by the USA and was written with neutral wording. Ultimately, both documents were adopted, but the European countries voted to include anti-Russian rhetoric in the American document, and after the changes, the United States abstained from voting on its resolution.

"Both resolutions in the UN General Assembly were adopted with the smallest number of votes during the extraordinary session of the General Assembly - only 93 votes "for", which in itself is more than indicative," Zakharova wrote on her Telegram channel.

"Let me remind you that France and Britain have the right to veto in the Security Council and could not get it through. Attention, question: when have France and Britain been sincere? When did they distort the American draft. resolution of the UN General Assembly or when was the same American draft approved without amendments?"

By the way, the UN Security Council voted for the American resolution on the conflict in Ukraine. The document was adopted in its original form, the Security Council rejected both the anti-Russian amendments of the European countries and the changes proposed by Russia aimed at "clarifying the assessment" of the Ukrainian crisis. The United States abstained from voting on all the amendments.

"It takes about three minutes to move between the halls of the General Assembly and the Security Council at a measured pace. Did they change their views on the global crisis in 180 seconds? Or do they just have a mask in every pocket - for every occasion?" – the diplomat ironically.

According to Zakharova, a UN Security Council resolution without condemnation of the Russian Federation has priority over a UN General Assembly resolution, sets the right framework, calling for peace.
