Albania's Minister of European Affairs and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, paid an official visit to Ankara yesterday, at the invitation of his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan, ATA reports.
Hasani was received by the Turkish Foreign Minister, with whom he held a fruitful exchange of ideas aimed at expanding and deepening bilateral cooperation in all areas of mutual interest. The focus of the talks between the two ministers also included regional cooperation, recent developments in the region and global issues.
The Albanian Foreign Minister informed that he discussed with the "good friend" Hakan Fidan discussed topics such as strengthening economic cooperation, attracting Turkish investors to Albania, and achieving progress in trade exchange, with the aim of reaching 2 billion euros.
Among the topics discussed were the “regional and global dynamics for security and stability“, strengthening cooperation between the two countries in international organizations, as well as the sixth summit of the European Political Community (EPC), which will be held in Tirana in May 2025.
According to the Declaration on Strategic Partnership between Albania and Turkey signed on January 6, 2021, this is the third meeting of the Political Dialogue Group at the level of foreign ministers. She is working to prepare the next meeting of the Turkish-Albanian High-Level Cooperation Council, chaired by Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
During her visit, Hasani honored the founder of the Turkish Republic, Kemal Ataturk, by laying a wreath at his mausoleum in Ankara.
