Bloody attack in Pakistan: Six killed in attack on Islamic school  - 1

At least six Islamic worshippers were killed in a bomb attack during Friday prayers in front of an Islamic school in northwestern Pakistan - an area where the Taliban are active, Reuters reports, citing a police statement quoted by BTA.

Among the victims is the head of the religious school, Mullah Hamid ul Haq - the son of Mullah Sami ul Haq, known as the "father" of the Taliban movement. Several people were injured in the attack.

According to police, it was a suicide bombing.

“Forensics are examining the crime scene and initial findings point to a suicide bombing,“ said Abdul Rashid of the local police station.

The attack took place outside the “Darul Uloom Haqqania&rdash; an Islamic university located in a Pakistani city near the main highway to the Afghan border. It was in this school in the 1990s that the Taliban movement emerged and to this day it is often described as an “incubator“ for radical Islamists.

So far, no one has claimed responsibility for the attack.
