The Kremlin's First Diplomat: European Peacekeeping Forces in Ukraine? This Means Open Incitement to War with Russia - 1

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that sending European peacekeeping forces to Ukraine would be "incitement" to war with Russia, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.

"This plan to send "peacekeepers" in Ukraine is a continuation of the Kiev regime's threat of war against us," Lavrov said in an interview with the Russian Defense Ministry's press service "Krasnaya Zvezda".

Lavrov also commented on relations between Moscow and Washington, describing the consultations between high-ranking representatives of the two countries, who met in Riyadh last month, as "a completely normal conversation between two delegations".

"We will never think alike on all issues of world politics. We admitted this in Riyadh. And the Americans admitted this. In fact, they said it themselves," the Foreign Minister noted. According to him, Russia and the United States can find points of intersection in their interests and take mutually beneficial actions. But in cases where their interests diverge, Russia and the United States "are obliged not to go to war."

Lavrov described Trump as a pragmatist whose actions are guided by "common sense." "So it's interesting with him," the head of Russian diplomacy added.
