Zelensky: Substantial diplomacy needed to secure peace, I'm counting on the US - 1

President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine needs “substantial“ diplomacy to quickly end the three-year war with Russia and expressed hope that it will be able to count on US support to secure peace, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.

“It is very important to try to make our diplomacy really substantial to end this war as soon as possible“, he said in “Ex“.

“We are working together with America and our European partners and we very much hope for American support on the path to peace. "It is necessary to achieve peace as soon as possible," he added.

Europe needs a strong Italy that acts alongside its partners to find a way out of the war in Ukraine, French President Emmanuel Macron said in an interview with the Italian publication "Folio", quoted by BTA, and called on the EU to remain united.

"If we want to generate confidence as Europeans in our long-term support for Ukraine, we must be able to provide solid security guarantees," Macron emphasized.

"We are trying to get things moving. And we need Italy, a strong Italy that acts alongside France, Germany, in coordination with the major countries," Macron stressed.

"Italy needs to be on our side, to commit to this path and to do so as a major European country, following in the footsteps of Mario Draghi", Macron said, referring to Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni's predecessor.

"At this moment, we must remain united," he said of Meloni, who is known to be close to Donald Trump.

Yesterday, on the sidelines of the London summit, Meloni said that it was important to avoid dividing the West after the dispute between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky in the Oval Office of the White House.

Meloni added that Italy and Britain could play an important role and be the ones who build bridges between countries.
