Ukraine is ready to sign an agreement with the United States to create a joint investment fund, Prime Minister Denys Shmygal said, quoted by Ukrinform, BTA reports.
„In the public space you will hear messages from the United States about their readiness to sign this agreement (framework agreement on mineral extraction). From our side, we are also giving a clear signal and I will repeat again: we are ready to sign the initial agreement to create an investment fund. The Ukrainian government agrees with this and this is our common position – of the President of Ukraine, the Government and the Parliament“, Shmygal emphasized.
The Prime Minister added that Kiev and Washington have not yet started concrete work on the agreement to create a joint investment fund.
The Ukrainian Prime Minister also said that his country has not received any proposal from partners to deploy peacekeeping forces in the country.
„If we officially receive such (proposal) from our partners, we will certainly be ready to discuss the details, to create the appropriate infrastructure. But there are no such proposals“, he added.
Meanwhile, Shmygal stated that his country is not conducting any negotiations on possible territorial concessions to achieve peace, but is ready to discuss a peace plan that includes a certain phased approach to achieving a just peace.
„From my point of view, in accordance with current international law, the UN Charter, this is impossible. Ukraine is a sovereign, independent state, with borders that are recognized by the international community and are written into law. That is why we do not discuss and cannot discuss territorial losses for Ukraine“, the Prime Minister emphasized.
He noted that Kiev can negotiate a peace plan that includes specific phased steps to achieve a just peace and stated that Ukraine has only one plan – to fight until victory.
Shmygal specified that another shipment of military aid from the United States had arrived last night.
"According to the information from the Minister of Defense, American military aid continues to arrive in Ukraine, included in packages from the previous American administration, and as of last night I have no information that anything has been stopped“, the Prime Minister said.
