Ukrainian troops in Kursk region not at risk of encirclement, assures Oleksandr Syrsky - 1

Ukrainian troops fighting in Russia's Kursk region are not at risk of encirclement, despite a recent counteroffensive by Russian forces, in which North Korean troops also participated. This was stated by the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian armed forces, Oleksandr Syrsky, quoted by Reuters, reports BTA.

Syrsky, who said he had visited Ukrainian troops in Kursk region, without specifying whether he had entered Russian territory, assured that the situation was under control.

„A number of settlements along the border, which are mentioned in the reports of Russian propagandists, no longer exist in reality – "They were destroyed by the aggressor's shelling," said Sirsky.

He added that despite the involvement of a significant number of Russian troops in the offensive, supported by North Korean infantry, the enemy suffered significant losses in manpower and equipment.

The Russian Defense Ministry announced last night that Russian forces had regained control of three more settlements in the Kursk region.
