British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has expressed hope to US President Donald Trump that talks in Saudi Arabia this week will lead to a positive outcome and allow Washington to end the suspension of US aid and intelligence sharing with Ukraine. This was announced by a spokesman for the prime minister, quoted by Reuters, reports BTA.
Starmer's spokesman added that UK officials had spoken to Ukrainian officials over the weekend before the talks in Saudi Arabia and that "they remain committed to a lasting peace."
"The Prime Minister said he hoped for a positive outcome to the talks, which would allow for the resumption of US aid and intelligence sharing," the spokesman said.
He added that the two leaders also discussed an economic agreement, which was the subject of talks during Starmer's visit to Washington.
"The Prime Minister welcomes the detailed discussions that have already taken place to move this issue forward," the spokesman said.
