Russian President Vladimir Putin and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud held a telephone conversation, the Kremlin press service reported.
„The Russian president congratulated the leadership and people of Saudi Arabia on the holy month of Ramadan for Muslims and conveyed good wishes to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud“, the statement said.
As the Kremlin added, the two sides "noted with satisfaction the high level of Russian-Saudi cooperation and confirmed their commitment to its further development in a friendly and constructive manner".
„Current issues of Russian-Saudi cooperation within the framework of of OPEC+. The importance of this unique format for ensuring the stability of the world oil market, maintaining a balance between supply and demand in the interests of both producers and consumers of raw materials was emphasized,“ the statement said.
The telephone conversation “underlines the commitment of Russia and Saudi Arabia to comply with the obligations they have assumed in OPEC+“, the Kremlin wrote.
The Crown Prince expressed his readiness to continue to assist in the normalization of relations between Moscow and Washington.
“Taking into account the international contacts maintained on the territory of the kingdom, Mohammed bin Salman noted the importance of resolving the Ukrainian crisis, and also expressed his readiness to continue to contribute in every way to the normalization of Russian-American relations,“ the statement said. The Russian leader highly appreciated Riyadh's mediation efforts and thanked the Saudi side, among other things, for "creating favorable conditions for holding negotiations between Russian and American representatives in Riyadh on February 18."
