Today in Tirana, within the framework of strengthening defense cooperation, a joint trilateral declaration will be signed between Albania, Croatia and Kosovo, Kosovopress reported, News.bg reports.

Albanian Defense Minister Pirro Vengu received on Monday the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Croatia Ivan Anušić, who is on a two-day visit to Tirana.

"Relations between Albania and Croatia are excellent and create security and stability in the region," Minister Vengu said, expressing gratitude for Croatia's unreserved support for Albania in the process of integration into the European Union, ATSH reports.

For his part, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Croatia's Ivan Anušić highly appreciated Albania's role in the region and highlighted the positive performance in the EU accession negotiation process.

The two sides shared a common assessment of the risks and threats facing South-Eastern Europe and stressed the need for increased NATO attention in the Adriatic-Ionian region, where Albania and Croatia can undertake joint initiatives.

In this context, the two ministers reaffirmed their commitment to jointly developing defense capabilities and the military industry.

In addition to the meeting with Defense Minister Pirro Vengu, Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister of Croatia Ivan Anušić will hold talks with President Bajram Begaj and Parliament Speaker Eliza Spiropali.
